Black women in politics in SC: why are they struggling?

Eight Black members of the SC House of Representatives lost their re-election bids. Six of those losses were Black women. Was it the result of deals cut during redistricting, or did other things contribute more? Plus, after three years, COVID-19 is still causing sickness and death. Are we COVID fatigued? Only 62% of vaccine eligible South Carolinians have been vaccinated. And, inflation is destroying dreams of home ownership and many families are struggling to keep food on the table.
