Honoring Septima Poinsette Clark, Rallying for Justice
South Carolina women rallied in Charleston on January 20th for electoral justice in commemoration of the first anniversary of the Women’s March on Washington. More than 3,500 women and men of all ethnicities gathered to honor the memory and legacy of Civil Rights pioneer and Charleston native, the late Septima Clark. The Women’s March was a reminder that Clark’s fight for electoral justice continues today and that women must not only vote but must run for public office.
